Pastors Wes and Bobbie came to Wickenburg Arizona in 2002 from their ranch in Wyoming. Though the ranch was a small working ranch with cattle and horses it was also a bible camp for youth during the months of June, July and August. Kids and adults would travel from all four corners of the United States and Canada to hear about God and live the adventure during the week-long stay.
Wes became a Bull and Saddle bronc rider in high school rodeo and into his adult life. This is what enticed him to start doing cowboy churches. They traveled across the country to rodeos and other equine sports where they could share about Jesus. Wes and Bobbie were competitors in Cowboy mounted shooting association (CMSA). Wes is a 2X World Champion and Bobbie is a National and World Champion. Both have multiple State and Regional titles as well before their retirement from the sport.

A few years after moving to Wickenburg they started the Fire Rock Cowboy Church for all the visiting cowboys during the winter. The church met in a local cowboy bar and steak house which rapidly gathered a local attendance of non-cowboys as well as many hats!
This prompted the move into the Saguaro Theater where they held services for 9 years. With additional increase in attendance, the church had outgrown the theaters seating capacity and the church did not want to go to two services. Though we come from all different walks of life, and denominations we have become a family and do not want to split up.
We are now holding service at the historic Flying E Ranch, Wickenburg, AZ.
Today, Pastors Wes and Bobbie dedicate the majority of their time to the church. Wes brings great joy and enthusiasm to powerful messages with plenty of illustrations and life application suggestions. Bobbie creates beautiful videos that she pairs with contemporary Christian hits from today as well as from the past.
Both Pastors would tell you that, “of all the exciting experiences in our lives, this church has been, by far, the most rewarding.” Their desire is for everyone to come to know God like they know God.

"My rodeo friend Danny Custer, who came from a very famous cowboy family, introduced me to Fire Rock Church and it became one of the most important aspects of my life. Danny died in a horse accident in 2015 and I continued going to the services to see my church family. Cowboy church is about love and worshipping God, not religion. Danny and Fire Rock changed my life.”

“We met the pastors, Wes and Bobbie, while moving saguaros palms for them. Our friendship deepened when we helped them at their ranch where they held “camp rodeo” for kids. Throughout their Fire Rock ministry we have seen multiple generations in our family get baptized. It has been amazing to watch our little group of faithful grow from just a handful to huge groups when the cowboys and ropers return in the winter. Whether in a restaurant, an arena, a barn, or a movie theater, the faithful continue to show up to meet the Lord. We have seen healings, salvations, and restorations. Wes and Bobbi truly love every member of the church family and it is an honor to serve our Lord alongside them.”

"I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed attending The Cowboy Church this winter while I was in Wickenburg. Having not attended church in the last 6 years since moving to a remote part of Oregon, I had decided to try a different church every week in Wickenburg during my winter stay. I thought it would be fun to see how everyone worshipped in the different denominations. I made it about 4 weeks and once I attended The Cowboy Church I stayed. It turned out God was more interested in how I worshipped!! Thank you so much for all the time you invest in this for people like me. I am so looking forward to coming back next year!! Have a great summer and I will be praying for you guys!!"

"Dear Wes & Bobbie, It was such a treat to come to your house on Wednesday night. Thank you for the feast, in more ways than one. It was a feast for the eyes, to see the glory of God expressed thru your creative handiwork in decoration and what you have done with your home, a feast for the body, in the food & festivities, a feast for the spirit, in the teaching you gave us on The Holy Spirit. Many thanks givings thru you both who are calling us up to a higher standard, thanks for raising the bar. We all need to be accountable to a higher standard. Our Lord is an excellent God, and we learn that thru others. You are an example of excellence. I’ve heard it said we can’t go higher if we don’t have those examples from our Pastors"

Fire Rock Cowboy Church is the place to be on Sunday mornings, with today's modern music, and the preacher keeping you on the edge of your seat, it's never a dull moment. From Bible verses to a hunting story. We laugh and sometimes cry, and the hour service goes by so quickly. This is my home for spiritual needs, and I highly recommend you come and feel the warmth of its people and the pastors, Wes and Bobbie Walton.
